Terroir The vineyard of Grand Fief de la Cormeraie lies on rock of gneiss and micaschist.
Winemaking methods Grapes are harvested ripe and immediately pressed. The juice is clarified slightly before alcoholic fermentation. Fermentation lasts approximately two weeks under controlled temperatures. The wine clarifies further during winter as the lees form. Lees are the natural deposit that results from the yeast and solid particles in the wine. Muscadet is not racked until bottling, which allows it to retain a small amount of carbon dioxide gas from fermentation. This gives the impression of a slight spritz at tasting.
Tasting Pale lemon-gold coloured wine. Fruity nose. Flavours of fleshy white fruits, like peach and apricot, and even apple, on the palate. This mineral-driven Muscadet has a well-structured mouthfeel.
Recommended with… Our Grand Fief de la Cormeraie Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie is a powerful and well-structured terroir wine, which will be well-suited to flavourful fish (grilled salmon) and shellfish, especially lobster.
Enjoy chilled at approximately 12°C.
