Project Description
Château du Coing

Melonia | |
---|---|
Appellation | Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie |
Grape variety | Melon B. |
Yield | 50HL/HA |
Terroir | The orientation of the hillside along the Maine river has led much of the gneiss to erode into sheets which are very weathered across the entire plot; in addition, the plot slopes steeply and the rock can be seen at the surface. |
Winemaking methods | The grapes are harvested in September as for most of our wines. After alcoholic fermentation, which is triggered with yeasts, we allow malolactic fermentation to take place (using bacteria). |
Tasting | Nose of exotic fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, mango) and ripe yellow fruits (peach). Very round and aromatic on the palate. Good acidity gives this wine excellent persistence of flavour. |
Recommended with… | Hors d’oeuvres, fish and white meats, and also cheese. Enjoy chilled at approximately 12°C. |
