Project Description

Château du Coing

Appellation Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie
Grape variety Melon B.
Yield 50HL/HA
Terroir The orientation of the hillside along the Maine river has led much of the gneiss to erode into sheets which are very weathered across the entire plot; in addition, the plot slopes steeply and the rock can be seen at the surface.
Winemaking methods The grapes are harvested in September as for most of our wines. After alcoholic fermentation, which is triggered with yeasts, we allow malolactic fermentation to take place (using bacteria).
Tasting Nose of exotic fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, mango) and ripe yellow fruits (peach).
Very round and aromatic on the palate. Good acidity gives this wine excellent persistence of flavour.
Recommended with… Hors d’oeuvres, fish and white meats, and also cheese.
Enjoy chilled at approximately 12°C.
